  • Yes, many ticks are tough! They can often survive a cycle in a washing machine, especially if it's not hot water. The key to killing them on clothing is to tumble dry the clothes on high heat for at least 10 minutes.

  • It's their incredible reproductive speed! A single female flea can lay up to 2,000 eggs in her lifetime. These eggs roll off the host and spread throughout the environment, rapidly creating a massive infestation.

  • Unfortunately, no. The adult fleas you see only account for about 5% of the total infestation. The other $95\%$ is made up of unseen eggs, larvae, and pupae hidden deep in your carpets and furniture.

  • That's a myth! Ticks don't jump or fly. They use a behavior called "questing," where they climb to the tips of grasses and shrubs and wait with their legs outstretched to grab onto a passing host.

  • Flea foggers often fail because they don't penetrate deep enough into carpets or under furniture to reach the pupal stage (cocoons). The pupae are encased and protected from the pesticide, and they hatch a week later, restarting the cycle.
